Since the dawn of time humans have been surrounded by inexplicable things- fire, flood, thunder perplexed the early man .... he believed it to be the wrath of an unseen force. I do not know which magic man came up with the concept of all mighty God but he did and so began the tradition of blind faith.
Then along came Science threatening to vanquish the simple beliefs with calm cool logic.. upsetting the simplicity of unflinching faith with its sharp poignant questions - the what, the why , the how of things had never been so much trouble before.
Superstition and science have been in battle of beliefs ever since then... sparking an everlasting debate, and making Dan Brown rich.
Though their ways are different the ends are same - a quest to understand the strange and the infinite.
people take to it in their own different forms and difference of opinion always exists whether its inter-generational or intra- generational. An opinion which is based on Faith, that this and only this journey embarked upon would lead them to truth - whether material or theological.
Faith is the force that lets us put all our faculties into the hands of one single entity be it Christ or Copernicus. Look around and you will find faith behind every action, every reaction manifested in different form and functions.
A hard-core fanatic who lives by the word of the scripture having Faith in his interpretations,
A liberal who bows his head before every place of worship and has Faith in the power of compassion,
An old lady chanting away hymns into the night, with the Faith and hope of a peaceful afterlife,
A holy man proclaiming his Faith on the soapbox, in the hope of a prosperous earthlife,
A child pretending to pray with an eye open,with the Faith that sweets will follow,
A workaholic who prays secretly and worships the tools of his trade,with the Faith that they will take care of him,
A scientist who toils away into the night, all alone, with the Faith that diligence will unravel yet another mystery of the universe
And every soul that breathes, with the Faith that he has a special purpose yet to fulfill.
Faith guides the passion and purpose in their lives.
I do not know which Faith is better ,
I do not know why we need to prove which one is,
I do not know why we fight over it ...
All i know is its too personal to be universal...
too flexible to be permanent ...
and too inspiring to be unique.
Faith is is the code by which we lead our lives, whether we admit it or not.
For those who consciously follow the word of God, its a convenience, to live by pre-prepared rules.
For those who fashion their own faith , its independence, to make their own
and
For those who swing in between the two, its a cushion of what is divine and destined which breaks every jump off the cliff they attempt.
